Spend a thin even coat of paint on the vinyl canopy. Fill the tank with a tray of paint exterior latex paint. If you want to paint your awning darker this is the easiest option. Step 7 paint the awning with acrylic latex exterior house paint within 48 hours of applying the primer.

Scuff sand if coating is high gloss and wipe off sanding residue. Remove any remaining small paint chips from the awning with a wire brush. You can normally go with a darker color to cover up faded fabric. To avoid this spray the sheet vinyl with a garden hose.

Apply it to the awning with a paint roller. This usually takes at least 24 hours. If you re going with this approach it may take a couple layers of paint and we recommend a clear code above the fabric to seal the surface. Allow 24 hours for the primer to cure before you spray paint.
