Preparation pressure wash to remove dirt grime chalk and other contaminants.
Slide a paint scraper across the surface of the awning until it is free of all loose paint and stubborn debris.
Sand to remove and loose paint and feather edges.
Scuff sand if coating is high gloss and wipe off sanding residue.
Remove any remaining small paint chips from the awning with a wire brush.
You can normally go with a darker color to cover up faded fabric.
To avoid this spray the sheet vinyl with a garden hose.
Apply it to the awning with a paint roller.
This usually takes at least 24 hours.
If you re going with this approach it may take a couple layers of paint and we recommend a clear code above the fabric to seal the surface.
Allow 24 hours for the primer to cure before you spray paint.
You will need to wait until it dries completely before applying your paint.
Place a primer on the aluminum awning.
