It is 50m high. Construction of the arena started in 2003 and finished in 2007. Raising the roof at the o2 working within an existing building through ingenious engineering we overcame the major challenge of constructing and installing the arena s 4 500 tonne roof. Due to the impossibility of using cranes inside the dome structure the arena s roof was constructed on the ground within the dome and then lifted.
